There are six measurements in all; first, the depth of the window casing; next, the length and the width of the window, measuring from the outside edge of the trim; you’ll need a diagonal measurement as well, also taking into account the trim; next, you’ll measure the length and width of the interior of the window casing without taking the trim into account; and finally you’ll need to measure the thickness of the window trim.  Getting these measurements exactly correct is paramount because most, if not all, companies will not refund your money if the measurements are wrong.  If you don’t believe you’re doing it correctly then hire someone who knows what they’re doing, of course.
